How to Share Jesus Videos Digitally

Posted on

Watch this video to learn how easy it is to use this app for sharing the many creative and evangelistic JesusFilm videos.Do you have an iPad, iPhone, Android device or any “smartphone?”  Even if not – maybe you just stick to the ol’ faithful desktop computer – you can still share these amazing videos via any computer with email.

About a year ago, our team with the JesusFilm released an iPhone/Android App which plays any of the many creative JesusFilm videos …available to watch in almost 1,200 different languages!  Since then, the videos have been viewed over 17 Million times!

Watch this short tutorial video to see how easy it is to use these videos about Jesus to communicate with someone about Him.

There are many videos to choose from – including films that communicate the gospel, offer discipleship training and encourage believers to share their faith!  You could even share the link to one of these videos with a friend in Germany, France, Mexico, Brazil, India, Japan or Korea.  Many of the videos have a translated version available in each of those languages! …or perhaps you might even meet a new friend at Wal-Mart or the gas station who speaks one of these languages.  Probably they’d be surprised and encouraged to see that you have a video in their own language right on your phone!

How have you started a conversation about Jesus recently?  If you could follow up with that person by giving him or her a small gift, what would you give?

God Moving in Madagascar and Mongolia

Joyful Mongolian staff member you helped train

This update is brought to you by the letter “M.” Mongolia and Madagascar are miles apart. Many disciples of Christ are multiplying there, marvelously.

Ok, I can only begin so many sentences with the letter m. 🙂 So I won’t go on with the mmmmmm’s. However, it is truly remarkable what the Lord is doing in these 2 countries – very different places yet both experiencing similar stories of exciting growth of new believers.

Take a look at these photos. Do you catch the joy in their faces? These are a few of our staff native to these countries. About 15 or 20 years ago, many of these people did not know the Lord. Most of them had never read one sentence of Scripture in their own language. But now they are full time missionaries …and fruitful missionaries. Some of them are seeing dozens of their countrymen place their faith in Christ every month. They are consistently meeting with new believers for Bible study and the basics of sharing their faith.

Kelly (above: bottom row far left) – a Zimbabwean staff member (read his amazing story here) – went to Madagascar in June. Richard – a Singaporean staff member – travelled to Mongolia in August. Both were able to replicate and deliver a training my team has produced to equip staff with better digital communications tools and strategies.

Map of the M Countries

Madagscar, a nation off the eastern coast of Africa, is the world’s 4th largest island.  Mongolia is inhabited by nomadic people who live in tents and raise livestock. There are a few cities widely dispersed across the great windswept plains.

So humbling to see the Mongolian staff begin the training with extended prayer and worship.

Thank you for your partnership in ministry with us. Because of your prayers and support, 50 staff in these 2 countries were trained. All of them are now able to leverage digital tools to share their stories, build disciples, strengthen churches, share native language resources and talk about Jesus with more people.

Great results

Thank you!

Gamers Meet on XBox for Bible Study

Posted on

“Want to meet me on Halo in the lobby at 7pm tonight for a Bible Study?”

If you have no idea what XBox or Halo is, don’t worry. Your kids or almost any of your friends aged 25 and younger probably do.

I love technology but I have yet to even touch an XBox – a video game which can connect to your TV, a computer and the Internet – allowing you to play video games competing live against other players on the Internet. It even allows you to talk with other players through a headset.

Halo is a very popular game for the XBox which features futuristic “special forces” teams of warriors doing battle together. For the very competitive gamers, there are even Halo tournaments with prizes. Before the game starts, players and their “avatar” (a computer generated representation of themselves as players in the game) can talk informally online.

Tyler Mann – now a college student in New York state – became a tournament winner and sought after Halo expert. When he first began developing his skills, he was an atheist. Belief in God was far from his mind and he even “had a problem with” Christians who talked about how great God is.

But then Tyler met Jesus. Grace-filled gamers on the Internet reached out to him. See Tyler’s story here.

Please pray for Tyler and others who now actively look for opportunities to engage other gamers in conversation about Jesus. Using the video conferencing technology available on the XBox, they even conduct regular Bible Studies for gamers.

What’s to Celebrate in 20 Years?

My short video greeting to Slovak staff

Recently the staff of Slovakia Campus Crusade – known as Hlas pre Krista Slovakia (Voice for Christ Slovakia) – had a small 20 Year Anniversary celebration (complete with cake). Via video technology, I was invited to join in. Want to hear what I said?

In September 1992, I helped lead the first year-long team to minister openly in post-Communist Czechoslovakia. The goal was to see God bring many Slovak university students into a personal relationship with Christ. A longer term goal was to help Slovak believers multiply themselves and build a self sustaining movement. During the last 21 years, in answer to much prayer, the Lord has done beyond what we asked or imagined.

Today there are over two dozen full time Hlas pre Krista staff. Hundreds of Slovaks have trusted Christ as a result of these staff members personally sharing the gospel. Some of these new believers now multiply their faith through outreaches in schools, in hockey stadiums through sports ministries, through movie discussion clubs and conversationally in coffee shops all over the country.

Slovakia Campus Crusade Staff Gathering

A couple of weeks ago in Budapest, I got to visit (very briefly) with Tomas and Milan – two of my Slovak friends. [Pictured above: Tomas is in shorts at far right; Milan is 3rd from left on back row at the Slovakia Staff Gathering.]  If you’ve never heard Tomas’ story, you can check it out here. He was an atheist when we first met back 20 years ago. Now his life is completely changed and he serves on staff reaching his country with the gospel.

By the way, I don’t really remember any Slovak words or phrases. However the first couple of words in my video are “Greetings” and “Good Day.” Take a look at the video.
