Our chance encounter with the President’s arrival at Tri-Cities airport for a quick visit last week.  Obama was breezing through for one of his town hall type meetings at the local Kroger there.  Surprisingly he did not have time to receive an invitation to Avery’s 10yr birthday party, which we celebrated that same night. 🙂

Avery’s 10th

Hard to believe she’s in double digits. We celebrated with a small party last week.

For her present, we gave her 2 tickets to the Barter Theater in Abingdon to see the musical – Wizard of Oz.  She loved it!  . . . And she chose me to be her guest and escort!

Mobile/Handheld Internet Growth Exploding

Newest Cisco Visual Networking Index Forecast Highlights Growth in Mobile Traffic -> News@Cisco

Cisco recently released a report which forecasts mobile internet data usage to reach 2 BILLION Gigabytes PER MONTH in the next 4 years. 

Staggering?  Translation:  That’s about half a billion DVDs worth of data transferred via cell phones and handheld devices every month.

Think about how easy you find the internet of today vs. the Internet of 7 years ago.  In a similar vien, the Internet is just gonna get easier – in many ways – on your cell phone, iPhone, etc.

So, the Lord may be giving us a real opportunity here.  This goes along with other interesting developments in the Internet world as noted earlier.  We should be looking for ways to tell our stories and listen to others’ stories on handhelds.  Do you have any thoughts?  How should we best take steps to do this?

Why G.C. Will Be Fulfilled

Dr. Steve Douglass is President of Campus Crusade for Christ International.  He and his wife Judy live in Orlando.

Steve Douglass says he thinks it is totally possible that the Great Commission (G.C. is the short lingo) could be fulfilled in our lifetime.  This is the talk he just gave at our training event.  Please download and listen to it. The stories Dr. Douglass shared as examples are simply amazing!

Here are the main reasons why he believes it’s possible and why he acting in faith that it WILL happen:

Why the Great Commission WILL be Fulfilled:

Because . . .

  1. God intends to do it.
  2. God has commanded it.
  3. The Lord offers total power to accomplish it.
  4. He is moving today.
  5. His people are praying more.
  6. His people are planning more.
  7. ”  ” are more at one. (Unified)
  8. Oral methods are overcoming illiteracy.
  9. Scripture translation is expanding rapidly.
  10. Many other breakthroughs have occurred.
